FIRE + NECTAR

a Rasa Yoga Retreat at Yenice Vadi, Turkey

with JC Rawady and Tanja Mickwitz

1- 6 October 2024

JC and Tanja are super excited to after many years dreaming finally offer a collaborative retreat at beautiful Yenice Vadi in Turkey.

Come along for six days of transformational practices, togetherness and relaxation immersed in nature. The perfect way to inspire and resource for the winter months ahead.

This retreat is built around the theme of Fire and Nectar to offer practices for inspiration, strengthening and revitalisation as well as replenishing resources and restoring the nervous system.

Tanja and JC have been practicing, studying and teaching side by side for nearly a decade, from the first ever Rasa Yoga Teacher Training led by Sianna Sherman. Please find out more about JC on his website here.

Why Fire and Nectar?

In yoga the fire we ignite is one of alchemy and transformation. We build a strong vessel through asana practice and a steady mind through meditation. The fire within is one which both stabilises and illuminates us.

The nectar on the other hand refers to practices which build our reserves, you could say these practices offer the fuel from which the fire builds. Restorative yoga and guided relaxation as well as chanting replenish and resource us, like a balm for our being.

In the morning you will enjoy a full spectrum Sadhana including mantra, mudras, meditation, pranayama as well as intelligently and creatively sequenced asana.

The afternoons will offer a combination of asana labs, restorative yoga as well a taste of JourneyDance (a free movement practice and process to music). Please also bring a journal for contemplations and insights.

About Yenice Vadi

Positioned in southwest Turkey, Yenice Vadi is surrounded by an abundance of trees including pine, almond, olives and fruit trees, all of which attract a wonderful range of wildlife including birds, boars, squirrels, hares, tortoises and goats.

Starting life as a series of agricultural fields, Yenice Vadi is now a thriving oasis consisting of a variety of luxury accommodation and a restaurant offering traditional regional cuisine.

In keeping with its origins, there is a working farm where vegetables are grown and animals kept.

Scattered around the gardens you will find vintage farm tools and machinery as well as an old olive press and grinding stones. In the market area guests can peruse and purchase antiques along with locally produced crafts, homemade jams, syrups, olive oil and honey. As a working farm lavender beds are harvested and organic lavender oil produced, perfect for a holiday gift.

To share the peaceful experience the yoga shala is a perfect addition which has been enjoyed by many yoga and wellness groups.

The Hamman (Turkish Bath) followed to give guests an authentic Turkish experience of this ancient process of cleansing and relaxing the body.

The freshwater lake provides a perfect habitat for waterlilies and wildlife and guests can take a dip in the 35m long pool which is centred in the middle. You are truly immersed in your surroundings as you swim leisurely up and down.

The concept of Yenice Vadi grew from a love of traditional Turkish village life. Yenice Vadi has come to reality in a secluded valley, surrounded by tree-covered mountains...
